What is the most important thing you've learnt on Drivetribe?

The most important thing I've learnt is... how to manage an audience/readers. I've been writing for a long time but DT/FT gave me the opportunity to reach a much wider, and more diverse audience, which means that soon enough, comments that were difficult to deal with, whether because they challenged something I'd written (especially I knew I was wrong) or because they didn't like the topic. Fortunately, DT/FT comments have always been, for the most part, spam-free and hate-free, but I still had to learn how to do that because I'd never done it before.

  • Sorry to sound sappy, but I've learned that there's still so many good people in the world. The internet can be a crazy place, but DT and FT has genuinely the nicest people. I'm very glad to have known everyone on here.

    • Completely agree with you. I couldn’t be more sad to see the end so soon.

  • I’ve realised that people kinda give a shit about me. I blended into the background a lot at school and college

    • It’s a shame IRL people don’t see your amazing personality I genuinely think you are one of the nicest people out here, and we can always enjoy smile😁

    • At least you do have a great job now! I do blend in the background slightly; that’s not necessarily a bad thing because you can get away with many things. Sad to see that you blended in because you have a great personality and do share many facts

  • How to be the centre of attention, I know that sounds weird but I'm a very introverted person in real life and I like to sink into the background of wherever I am but on DT whatever I post its MY post and anyone who is looking at it is looking at something that I made and it's helped me deal with a somewhat large amount of people at once like when I wake up a day after a quiz was posted I need to respond to 50+ messages and be prepared for whatever people say back and thankfully with drivetribe, it's mostly positive

  • I learned that It’s possible to for an online forum to foster discourse without its being reduced to hateful, cowardly trolling. This is an excellent community of people and I’m very glad I had an opportunity to be a part of it.

  • I've learnt that no matter what people believe they have all got something to offer. This best example of this is although I disagree with on almost everything imaginable we still really get on.

    • We but heads sometimes but there's never bad blood we are great friends who disagree at times but learn to respect each other's views and even agree

    • Exactly. Drivetribe taught me disagree respectfully and that the person arguing against is probably an amazing person. Thanks for being so great and letting me realise that (along with others)
