What would the Cullinan look like as a pickup truck? We have the answer...

The Rolls Royce Cullinan has been on the market for around a year and a half now and it’s fair to say it’s one of the most Marmite-esque cars around.

In fact, some think that Rolls Royce can do no wrong and that the Cullinan is simply the best SUV in the world. Others simply hate it.

But in an attempt to make the Cullinan’s design appeal to the wider public, online motoring renderers have reimagined it as a pickup.

In every design, the front-end keeps the same feel of a Phantom that has been distorted on Photoshop.

As the car is so big already, the addition of a truck bed looks almost ridiculous. That’s why most artists have decided to remove large parts of the cabin replacing them with the pickup area. Somehow, this strongly reminds me of the low-slung Ford F-150 SVT Lighting.

This is the problem Rolls Royce has. Because its cars are so expensive that just a select few people can afford them, they will only ever be truly judged by their looks. This would be fine if the company stuck to what it knows with elegant cruisers, but the minute they introduced an SUV, it was bound to be scrutinised more heavily than the other cars on the market. Obviously, this goes for a potential pickup as well.

  • At some point in time, car design switched from actual designers to marketing demands dictating what would sell best (that's why so many cars these days look the same) in the case of Rolls Royce, a lot of heritage and brand recognition design has been added to what Rolls Royce thinks would sell, so the the Cullinan was born. The problem with the pickup is, no one, who can possible afford a Rolls Royce is ever going to need a vehicle that can haul anything. For the same reason certain divisons of Chrysler and GM never built any pick ups. That's why there is no Chrysler Pickup and no Cadillac one, that's also why there is never going to be a Rolls Royce Pickup.

    • Yeah, because all RR customers need a car that can trek into the wilderness and Ford rivers 🤔😂😂

    • You are of course absolutely right. But SUVs are just the fashion at the moment. Everyone thinks they're capable and fast offroaders, while being immensely practical (most are none of the said things), so it's just fancy to have one

  • It’s pointless. I’ll never get used as a pickup truck because it’s too expensive. Plus, a Rolls-Royce has always been a car that you hire someone to drive you around in, not that you drive yourself. And no one buys a pickup that they won’t be using the bed. Also that render is super ugly
