What would you choose for 2,5k for the car for a 17 year old challenge?

The rules are simple - you should find a car that you can buy and insure for just 2500 quid - and maybe do some mods to it to make it "cool"

So, do you remember the chaps pretending to be 17 year olds with all that points off for objects they don't hit, James' banging stereo for me tunes that Jezza and Hammond glued up and other stuff? We all liked that challenge - so what would YOU choose for it?

My choice - the 1995-1998 and 2001-2006 Honda Civic

A nice choice for a 17 year old, isn't it?

So, I've pretended to be a boy from Eastern Scotland since the ruthless insurance companies think there's the lowest amount of idiot drivers, or maybe it's the home of the most accurate drivers in the UK, judging by the one of the lowest insurance quotes. Sadly, I couldn't find some examples of the EK Civic on sale because every used car website asks for a valid UK postcode I know nothing about, but I suppose you could get one for less than 600 quid, and since it's a Civic, there's plenty of mods to do and a range of highly tunable i-VTEC engines. If you're a japanophobe, an Escort or an Astra would also work instead. In case you used your parents' insurance you can get a newer EP gen, too.

The EP I was talking about. A forgotten gem from Honda's crown.

Specially for Aaron - BETSY THE KIA CERATO!

    Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think it'd cost about 900 quid now since it's a car from an era when Kia made even worse cheap crap than today. Mods? Not sure about it, but it's Betsy the Kia Cerato plus the Top Gear Towing Car of The Year of 200-something so... Also use your parents' insurance coz you obviously can't afford your own especially when you get a car worth almost a whopping thousand pounds!
