That's a question that has been bouncing around alot lately. The future so far looks dark for petrolheads. With autonomous cars coming soon we won't be driving. That means that you just leave your safety to a computer...sounds comforting.
Also since electric cars are moving in, petrol cars are starting to sound like dinosaurs. Well that is true. Mainly because what's the use of having a car but no fuel to run it? You ain't going to get to work very fast.
I know I sounded a bit eco there, but I am starting to fall in love with electric and hybrid cars. BUT I still believe they not the future. I believe it's just a stepping stone for cars. A temporary solution the problem.

This is because electric cars can only take off in certain countries. Let's take a example here. If you coming from Britain there are tones of charging points around each corner. So no problem there you might say.
But if you take Africa where you won't find a charging point very easily. So electric cars are so far only possible in richer countries than poorer ones. Now to talk about autonomous cars. People thinks it's a great idea and everything. But I see a few issues.

One of them is how will it know the different road signs and legal parking? Such as how will it know the legal speed limit in a area? Also a few people have already been killed and injured in accidents concerning autonomous technology.
But hydrogen fuel has its own problems as well. Such as it's highly flammable, much more than petrol. Which means on wrong move and kaboom! Also its costs much more than petrol. So hydrogen also has a few issues.
But petrol won't be available much longer so we might have to revert to biofuel, electric and hybrid because of that issue. Take the world's current fastest car. The Koenigsegg Agera RS which runs on biofuel.

But biofuel also has its disadvantages. Well because you need to cut more forests so you can make more land for farming. So far everything has its own disadvantages. But that doesn't' mean there isn't a future for cars. We just going to gave to wait and see.
So what's your opinion on the future of cars? Do you think it will be electric, biofuel, hybrid or hydrogen? Well tell me what you think in the comments below about the unknown future of cars.

Mazda has a gas (petrol) engine in work that may be overall more efficient than electric. We’ve been running petrol engines under 40% efficiency for years, and that means there’s still HUGE potential for improvements, and less investment needed to create an entirely new fuel infrastructure.
Hydrogen is interesting but has its own issues.
Perhaps there’s some breakthrough around the corner, but until then petrol is going to be hard to replace, especially if we start to see some real efficiency gains there.
And they are investing in a carbon capture project that can collect carbon gases and convert it into synthetic fuel so us petrol heads can still enjoy our cars
