What's your car timeline?

Are you sticking to a brand or like to give any brand a chance?

I'd like to hear of your car history in short - just a timeline of models with a few word description of the first thing it comes to your mind about that car.

Here's mine - I've included all the cars my family owned (and I have driven), my own cars and the cars I use 24-7, part of my contract.

1989 Yugo Koral 45 in grey (a mess, but nostalgia keeps getting stronger)

1988 Opel Kadett E 1.3 N (after Yugo, an airplane)

1991 VW Golf 1.6 D CL (tough tank, also comfortable accordingly)

1999 FIAT Brava 80 16v SX (the happiest engine ever)

2001 Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 TS 105 Progressive (my 1st true love)

2012 Renault Clio Mk3 1.5 dCi 75 Avantage (plastic)

2013 Renault Clio Mk4 1.5 dCi 75 Expression (a masterpiece of superminis)

2014 Renault Megane Mk3 1.5 dCi 95 Authentique (except for a brilliant engine and 6speed GB, rubish)

2020 Peugeot 301 1.5 BlueHDi Allure (amazingly spacious, but a car of many compromises)

  • I haven’t had any cars, but here is my parents recent car history (probably a bit inaccurate, the model years and exact placement of these cars is going to be wrong and we always have had 2/3 cars at a time so keep that in mind, as well as the fact we only buy brand new cars)

    Dodge Grand Caravan

    Honda Odyssey

  • Well, since my birth... As I recall some info.

    1. Lada 2104 (parents, for short time)

    2. Moskvitch 2140 (grandparents)

    3. Opel Kadett D 1.6D 3door (uncle's but we used it often)

    4. Opel Vectra A 1.6i GLS Sedan (parents)

    5. Renault Espace III 2.2dT (parents and me, years after that, when I got a license)

    6. Ford Focus Mk1 1.6i 5door (my first car)

    7. Peugeot 407 SW 2.2i Automatic (parents, currently in use)

    8. Ford Focus ST170 5door (my current car)

And there are many company car's of mine I used for daily commute, the list is endless especially at the current job but before, at my first job I drove a 2009 Citroen Berlingo 1.6HDI Delivery Van, 2005 Citroen Berlingo 1.9D Delivery Van (shortly, phew) and a 2009 Nissan Navara 2.5dCi Quad Cab (once, when the '09 Berlingo had some light issues - the truck was not suitable for my daily commute anyway), after that I worked shortly for a summer in a rental company, nothing much to say there and after that - many 2017-2019 Ford cars (including a Mustang 5.0 manual very few times). Aftet that some 2019 Volvos, and now mostly whatever is there on the new car market.

    • Try and get a series 1 or 2 Alfa 33, they pop and crackle a lot more than the later injection cars.... and no power steering 😀
