What's your guilty pleasure car you'd get laughed at for liking?
We all have a naughty guilty pleasure car we'd like to own, but are you brave enough to share it in the comments?
When it comes to guilty pleasure cars, I don't feel as though there is any need to keep them a secret. For example, most DriveTribers and their mum's colleague's dogs know I have a sneaky obsession with the Audi A2, and I am proud about that.
However, it goes so much deeper than that and far beyond that of the Audi A2 and onto some utter filth from brands of the past such as a whole array of British Leyland detritus and things made in Italy which no one knows about. We all have these guilty pleasure cars and I don't think we should be afraid to share them.
So, I am going to let you all in on a little secret of mine which very few people know. One of my biggest guilty pleasure cars, despite being hated by the majority, is the Austin Princess - a car which is fundamentally a bit rubbish, but looks incredible.
The designer of this magnificent beast was a bloke called Harris Mann and he was also responsible for designing the Austin Allegro, Triumph TR7, MK1 Ford Escort, and a plethora of Rovers. It is pretty safe to say then, that he did his rounds with British motor cars and loved a classic wedge shape as seen on the TR7 and Princess.
To me, the Princess has such a smart looking wedge shape, that it is hardly ever missed. I am probably the only person on DriveTribe who likes them, but I don't really care. I would love to buy a leggy one and restomod it into something which made even less sense than the original thing because I am clearly not well.
