Which do you prefer: cars or motorbikes?

It's a debate older than the internet, and I'm dying to hear your thoughts...

The other day, I posted a video showing a Kawasaki Ninja H2R kicking 7 shades of shit out of the vehicular glitterati king, the Bugatti Veyron. If you’re interested in watching that particular race, then please feel free to click here. But beyond the comical supremacy of the outcome, it made me ponder a debate that’s older than the internet.

It’s a straight question: which do you prefer - cars or motorbikes? Not which is better - because there can be no answer to that - but simply which do you prefer?

I appreciate this will have many querying precisely what bike and car I’m referencing when asking people to choose - but rather than specifying, I’m merely asking in general. Also, it’s up to you what perspective you choose to answer the question from - whether it be via looking at the enjoyment aspect, or at the performance. Really, it’s entirely up to you.

For me, I’ve never been a bike person. My passion has always firmly been with the car, and that’s not likely to change any time soon. There may be some that say a “cage” can never replicate even half the thrill of a bike - but every time I see a motorcycle on the road, I can’t help but think the rider will one day be enriching the local hospital’s transplant ward.

While some may think that the reward for riding a bike is worth the risk, it’s only worth it if you never get into an accident. Of course, you’re far from invincible in a car - but if a young man were to knock on your door asking to take your daughter out, would you rather him take her away in a car or on a bike?

I’ll leave the title question with you. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say in the comments.

  • I, like most other people prefer cars. They are more versatile, comfortable, practical and better in many other things.

Besides, we have a whole slew of hypercars, and only one hyperbike. That says it all. People don't want them.

My favourite Clarkson quote is still: if you ride a bike, you have to be dressed like a Power Ranger.

I can't take you serious if you show up like that 😁

    • Yes! The Clarkson Power Ranger quote sums it up perfectly 🤣

    • In my opinion motorcycle gear, these days looks awesome. I can't take seriously people who ride motorcycles in a T-shirt and shorts and some random sneaker (instant ankle break). I prefer both cars and motorcycles, and I don't think...

  • Cars for now, but if I get bored I can always expand my knowledge and reduce the number of wheels...

  • Wow tough decision... thrashing down a decent welsh road in a fast car is an amazing thrill, middle of the night full beams on no one else around, you get to a junction turn round and do it again! Nothing beats it... except maybe stringing 2 or 3 decent bends together leaned over, knee an inch of the road or V max on a deserted bit of motorway (usually at night) chin touching the tank neck muscles straining to keep your head on, white lines and Armco are a blur😂both are an assault on the senses and a complete adrenaline buzz but both completely different. I’d take the bike...just but it’s a tough call 🏍

  • Eh, I just like machines. There is no better one, just different.

  • I prefer to be shielded from the elements and don't wanna suit up, so cars naturally.
