Who designed it better: McLaren or DriveTribe?
McLaren have adopted a retro papaya colour scheme, but does DriveTribe's own classic livery look better?
McLaren have launched their 2018 Formula 1 car and, as promised, it's a papaya number that harks back to the team's early years.
After last year's effort – which was about as competitive as it was pretty – this is a definite step up from the Woking team. Okay, there are almost no sponsors on the side of the car, but you need results before anyone's going to pay for that space.
That being said, could they have done something more with the new car? As part of our 2018 livery project we asked our resident designer Sean Bull to come up with an alternative look for the team. His version is also retro-inspired, harking back to the all-conquering Marlboro McLarens.
Which begs the question, who designed it better: McLaren or DriveTribe? Judge for yourself and vote for your favourite at the bottom of this page.

Drivetribe, Drivetribe, Drivetribe!
I'm not a fan of this year's McLaren livery. It's not agressive, it doesn't represent McLaren's heritage, and above all, McLaren's a very respectable team, the second most successful team in history, and this just doesn't show it.
Orange's fine, but not papaya orange with blue. This is something Sauber would think of.
Am I the only one who dislikes it?
I really miss British Racing Green!
"it doesn't represent McLaren's heritage" you don't know anything about mclaren...
Alright, explain this then: What livery did McLaren have when they were at their most successful phase? White and Red. After that, silver and black and ultimately silver (chrome) and red. That's McLaren! Unfortunately I haven't been at...
