Who remembers the Opel Tigra V6 Ice Race Car from Gran Turismo?

Turns out it did exist. And with over 400Hp moving only 950Kg, it was quite the machine...

Originally built for the snowy Races of the Trophée Andros, this is the All Wheel Drive, V6 2.5L powered Opel Tigra that is nowadays mostly remembered by those who played Gran Turismo 2 where this machine was one of the best Rally Cars of the game. And on the Real World, it was a badass machine as well, with over 400Hp and weighing only 950Kg, it even benefitted from having 4 Wheel Steering as most of the machines built for Ice Racing normally do.

All this adds up to produce the images you can see here in this very rare footage caught at a special event held in Oviedo, Spain, where it was driven by Rallying Legend Markku Alen and got a 2nd Place overall only behind another Rallying great, Carlos Sainz.
