Who would win in a three-lap race at Le Mans?
  • Jeremy Clarkson in the 1967 Shelby Mustang Super Snake
  • Richard Hammond in a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
  • James May in a 1961 open-top Jaguar E-Type (with a one lap head start)

  • Clarkson. The Hamster would bin the Cobra, obviously. Captain Slow would be offering an erudite and comprehensive monologue about the Jaaaaaaaaag, miss a turn and end up in Italy.

  • I think Clarkson wins after cutting every chicane on the Mulsanne Straight. Hammond will surely argue right after the race. May will stop at every corner, telling us the most amazing stories of the past.

  • The mustang won't corner and Richard would probably spin out many many times

  • Honestly this isn't even a contest. May will win hands down. May has a one lap head start.

A lap at Le Mans in an old E-type will take around 5 minutes. (add one because it's May)

No way Clarckson or Hammond are going to close that gap

    • I think thats bang on! Was my thinking. Plus old muscle cars have a lower top speed than the Jag on the long straights.

    • Although, knowing May, he'd probably find a way to get lost.

  • Hammond would likely crash after the first turn, so a safe bet would be Clarkson.
