Why I love taking haunted road trips and vacations
My history with the paranormal
Some of you know me from FoodTribe and occasionally here on DriveTribe but what you may not know is that I love traveling to haunted locations and investigating if they are really haunted. Not only do I want to find if these places are really haunted but are they more haunted than the house I live in. So here is a little peek into why I do these trips and enjoy investigating the paranormal.
Let's start with the first time I seen a ghost/shadow figure, I was four or five years old and I was in bed hopelessly awake when I saw a dark shadow of a man walk into my bedroom and cross my room and disappear into the wall on the other side. I had no idea what I just witnessed, honestly it was scary and interesting all at the same time. After laying there trying to figure out what I had seen I see the same figure walk out of the same wall he entered and walk back across my room and exit out of my bedroom door. Honestly, this scared me the first few times I seen it, to the point I used to hide under my parents bed until I realized he was nothing to fear. I would love to go back to that house and see if he still does his nightly walk across that room and maybe find out why.
As I was growing up my parents and I lived in a few haunted homes as well as other family members that lived in haunted homes as well. These houses ranged from slightly haunted to very haunted. During this time I witnessed all sorts of activity from full body apparitions, items being thrown and even paintings that move and many things in between. My wife and I currently live in a house that is haunted by two spirits, one is a 8 year old little boy and the other is my wife's grandfather that died in the house, plus a third that comes to visit occasionally along with a ghost cat that likes to rub on legs and sleep in bed with us. In our home things often get thrown, we also see full body apparitions, strange noises, footsteps and we even get touched, poked and our hair played with and much more.
Now that I am older I have more understanding of the paranormal and find that I am more sensitive to it. Now I do not fear it as much as I respect and appreciate it and even more curious. When we go on a road trip or a vacation our paranormal stuff gets packed as well.
This is just a short summary of my history with the paranormal, if I tried to write about all the events I have experienced in my life I would need to type for weeks. I would be happy to share my experiences if you all are interested. I will be posting some of the haunted locations I have been to as well, so stay tuned for that.
