A while back my 84 year old father in law meet at the dragstrip. He has a 2014 Camaro that he has put a big cam in and added a 3500rpm torque converter. I beat him to the finish line last time. He actually ran a .005 faster ET than I did. I just got him off the line. His car did not hook up well either. He has since gone to a top tuner and got about 50hp more on the dyno. Also added Mickey Thompson drag radials.
I took the more sedate route. The Ford Performance cold air induction kit. Kit also contains an 87mm throttle body and a tuner. Claim is for 19hp at 6500rpm, 18lbs of torque at 4500rpm. What I am interested mostly in is the 42lbs of torque at 2000rpm. My Mustang does not spend a lot time at the lower rpm, but I already know the launch will be fun. I just hope the car can learn the new program before Saturday night. I understand it takes quite a few start ups and driving for the traction control to learn what to do with the low end power. I already have experienced a good bit of tire spin going into 2nd gear. The 10 speed has closer ratios in the higher gears, so no problems there, yet.
Will post results Sunday, if it is not too embarrassing. My best last trip to the track was a 13.13 at 110mph. Hoping to be into the 12s with kit and hopefully cooler weather at the strip.

Will be interested to hear your results. I've done a number CAIs on different vehicles. For the most part I've only found them to add a nice sound and look. Maybe just a touch of performance on a turbo charged engine but nothing noticeable on an N/A engine. But I also didn't put them on an exact stop watch to verify.
There was more than the CAI. The kit replaced an 80mm throttle Body with an 80mm unit and it includes a tune to accommodate the throttle body. The tune changes throttle response and some transmission function. I have been driving the car and...
