Things have been looking bleak for Williams in recent times.
I remember when last year in Baku, former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve anticipated what might happen. He pointed out that Williams were going to lose their contract with their main sponsor at the end of the season and, following a meagre 10th place in the Constructors' standings, things could only get worse.
And unfortunately that's exactly what happened.
George Russell and Robert Kubica have been largely unoccupied over the last few days while their colleagues were testing their respective cars because Williams couldn't ship the two single-seaters for 2019 in time.
They finally managed this morning but surely, that can't be a good start. Quite apart from anything else, every other team has already completed several laps and gathered data and important information while Williams couldn't do that.
There's a lot of catching up to do.
