Roy Nissany will continue with Williams Racing for 2021 season, as he is set for FP1 outings and also a day from the pre-season test.

Having joined Williams in 2020, Nissany will continue in his 'Official Test Driver' role for the 2021 F1 season. Like last year, he will get three FP1 outings during the course of the season and will also get one day from the pre-season test as well.

Considering that the 2021 pre-season test is only of three days, Nissany will drive on one of the days, whereas it is assumed that George Russell and Nicholas Latifi get one day each. Additionally, the Israeli will have an increased simulator work at Grove.

“I am truly honoured to continue being part of Williams," said Nissany. "Since we started, we have made huge progress across many areas - on top of the great FP1's, we had a lot of productive work behind the scenes. While dedicating as much as I can to the team, I enhanced my skills and my capabilities as a driver.

"I am very keen to continue this form in 2021." At the same time, Williams team principal, Simon Roberts, added: "I am pleased that Roy will continue as the team’s Official Test Driver into 2021, building on the good work we started last year. As a team, we were very happy with the contributions Roy made both through his work on-track and in the simulator at Grove, which all aided the lap time gains we were able to make with the FW43.

"We also enjoyed seeing Roy grow as a driver, and we have no doubt that he will continue to go from strength-to-strength this year." While Nissany is to continue with Williams in the test role capacity, his racing future for 2021 is yet to be confirmed.

Having competed with Trident in 2020, Nissany tested with DAMS in the post-season testing. The Israeli is, therefore, tipped to switch teams in F2 in 2021. He is also linked to race in the F3 Asia series, where Jehan Daruvala and Guanyu Zhou will be racing.
