Willys Gasser

1y ago

When I was a teen in the '60s I became a big fan of drag racing. A new NHRA drag strip opened 2 miles from home, and my dad and I became regulars watching the excitement. One car that really attracted my attention was the Willys Americar that was popular as a gasser. The one that I really liked was the '41 Willys of Stone, Woods & Cook. I had to build the model of it.

When this Willys drove up at the Cars & Coffee, it brought back some old memories of my teen years.

  • I have a soft spot for these, especially if they have the lifted nose gasser style.

  • I have only seen a few Willys here but I am not sure I saw any before moving to the south. They are unique to me and I need to learn more about them. I know the JEEPs a little better 😉
