Winner of the World's Dreariest Car Revealed

Who won the enormous 1,500 TribeCoins!?

Some days ago, I set up a competition for a lucky winner to have 1,500 tribecoins. All you had to do was think of an extremely dreary car and explain why it is so dull, then I would handpick a winner and give out the award - which is what's happening today!

There were many great entries, but a clear winner stood out to me - because the photo and comment was almost entirely forgettable!

And it comes from the iconic American manufacturer, that is Chevrolet...

As you can see from the attached Images, Chevrolet have and know how to make a great car. They have done for many decades and you don't have to think too deeply to come up with one you want.

So, how on earth did it all go wrong?

The winner: the Chevrolet Captiva suggested by Samuel Traynor!

I don't have a clue how a pioneering American brand like Chevrolet could come up with something so... eugh.

It's not even worth bothering talking about. It has been designed to look like a car. It has an engine of some sort (probably a crap one), some windows, a gearbox and a pair of axles with wheels to go underneath.

"Ah yes, look at our plastic cladding - you can buy a real off-road vehicle!" Except it probably has the same off-roading capabilities as a fish.

The Captiva represents... absolutely nothing at all. Which is why it's the winner!

Enjoy your coins, Samuel!

  • I don't know, seems too harsh. Any car that has a V6 top and raced a Dakar shouldn't be the worst, specially considering that the choice is based on premise that Chevrolet should have known better, while actually Chevrolet only got a solid Opel to rebadge, they didn't have any input in development. If the entry had a picture of Opel Antara, it probably wouldn't be seen the same way.

There are worst cars - 1st gen Tiguan is more dreary, if talking SUVs, or Mitsubishi Spacestar.

    • Okay, but at the time, GM owned both Chevrolet & Opel (and all of the other brands that put their badges on it), so that's a bit of a moot point. A car called an Opel Antara went in the Dakar, but apart from the headlights, what does it have in common...

  • Just surprised how the heck the Matiz lost?!🤯. I honestly would prefer a Captiva over it
