We asked for your help to name the brilliant women in motorsport. Now we will take a closer look, and share a new trading card every week! This week the fantastic Katherine Legge is our muse!
Katherine Legge, born the 12th of July 1980, is a british racing driver. She started her professional racing career in 2005, but have had an interest in motorsport long before that, and was karting and racing other cars.
In 2000, she was the first woman to achieve a pole in a Zetec race. In 2001, she beat Kimi Räikkönen's lap record and achieved a pole, and she was also the first woman to receive the British Racing Drivers' Club’s "Rising Star" award.

In November 2005 she tested a Formula One car, and the month after, she became the first woman to test an A1 Grand Prix car, with A1 Team Great Britain. With Polestar Motor Racing, she competed in the Toyota Atlantic Championship. She won the series opener, and became the first woman to win a developmental open-wheel race in North America, and finished 3rd overall.
Katherine was racing in the 2006 Champ Car season, after two test drives for PKV Racing. She was leading 12 laps in this season, and was the first woman to do so. In 2007 she drove for Dale Coyne Racing, achieving sixth place, twice.
In 2008, she moved on to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters series where she was driving for Colin Kolles' Futurecom TME Audi team, and in 2009 and 2010 she raced for the Abt Sportsline team.

Legge took part of the 2012 MAVTV 500 IndyCar World Championship, where she raced for Dragon Racing and competed in 10 of the 15 races. She left the series in 2013 to participate in the DeltaWing program in the United SportsCar Championship, and entered both the 2014 and 2015 seasons for DeltaWing. In 2017 she drove an Acura NSX GT3 at the IMSA SportsCar Championship, for Michael Shank Racing.
