The 2020-2021 Provisional calendar for the World Endurance Championship has now been revealed, featuring two new racetracks on it. While retaining classic races like 24 Hours of Le Mans and 6 Hours of Fuji and Spa Francorchamps, WEC managed to add two more events: 6 Hours of Monza and 6 Hours of Kyalami.

Autodromo Nazionale Monza is one of the most renowned race tracks around the world, especially known for its high-speed layout. 6 Hours of Monza would definitely be a good ‘test-bed’ for teams to gain experience with high-speed circuits before going to Spa Francorchamps of La Sarthe.

Kyalami is Africa’s most famous circuit and is the symbol of the old glory days. Kyalami used to host Formula One races back in the days, but the circuit soon became outdated. However, in 2014, Toby Venter, the owner of Porsche South Africa bought the track and upgraded the track into obtaining an FIA Grade 2 status, thus enabling it to be part of the 9th season of WEC.

As Monza and Kyalami were added, Solo Le Mans at COTA and 4 Hours of Shanghai at Shanghai International Circuit has been eliminated from the list. Furthermore, Silverstone has returned to its original format of a 6-hour race from this season’s 4-hour race. The official list is listed below.
