Worlds First DIY Jet Engine With Afterburner Shockdiamond
The plan, build the second of my new DIY Jet Engines, and then see how much we can push it , getting a shockdiamond from the afterburner
So after building many jet engines, and how well the new engine worked from the off. I think its time to push things to the limit. The hope is the first of the new engines that is fitted in a Go-Kart chassis will break the record of 116mph, we hope at least 140mph. To help with this goal I am building a another of the new engines, but this time it will be in a test stand, so we can see how fare we can push.
The goal is to get the engine to the point, that we can get a shockdiamond or mac diamond as its sometimes called. This has never been done before with a diy jet engine and does come with some increased risks. This is why it needs to be proven in a test stand, before we try and replicate on the track.
As you can see in the video above things sometimes go a little wrong, so clearly have a test stand when pushing the new engine to its limits, and may be a little past what the numbers on paper say. We are going to need some blast protection, and inproved measuring equipment.
If any of you know of companys that could help, would like to be part of a world record project, please let me know . Like i have said... last time out we did 116mph.... this time 140pmh, and may be more, plenty fast with a homemade jet engine and a Go-Kart chassis
