Would you believe me if I said this was a Kia?
Well I am here to tell you it is a Kia
Yes although this (due to Kia's car history) does not make sense at all. Yes Kia have made a 4x4 military car similar to the Hummer. It looks like something from a zombie apocalypse.
If you were told that you had to embark on a military mission, the first vehicle that would come to mind would not be a Kia, it would probably be a Hummer or a Land Rover. Kia has made light weight military vehicles for the South Korean military and government. Kia have made vehicles like this in the past such as a similar version to this for the South Korean Army but this concept vehicle has wrapped more attention than the new Lamborghini Sian because people simply can't believe that this is a Kia. It was first shown at the 2021 International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) in the United Arab Emirates.
This light tactical cargo truck can seat four people on its modular chassis. It is powered by a Euro 5 diesel engine which produces 225 BHP making it fairly similar to the new Kia Sorento Hybrid. It has four-wheel drive with a 8-speed automatic gearbox. It also has independent suspension, run-flat tires and a limited-slip differential. The long-wheel base version features a mobile workshop and a communications centre.
It can also haul a staggering amount of cargo of up to three tons in its rear department and as well as that house 10 soldiers too. There are armoured and unarmoured versions of the truck as well. This truck can be used for the following things...
and much much more!
Kia has sort of started a rumour about a 'Civilian' version of the truck but it's not confirmed as of now.
"Both concepts on display have been developed to be highly flexible and durable," said Ik-tae Kim, Vice President for Kia's Special Vehicle Division. He then said that the concepts have "the capability to be used in some of the world's harshest environments."
