Would you drive this van around Los Angeles

It started out in life as a Toyota Hiace

I remember the good old days of the early Fast & Furious movies - before they completely abandoned the laws of physics and any semblance of realism. And I remember the crazy cars featured in TV shows such as Pimp My Ride. They were so ridiculous and OTT, they were almost nice. That’s certainly the case with this ‘Bosozoku’ Toyota Hiace.

This Toyota Hiace has been turned into a Bōsōzoku van. And then painted mint green for good measure. Bosozoku usually refers to a Japanese tuning style with outrageous body kits. The term was originally coined for modified motorcycles but these days it can be associated with cars and even fashion.

The interior matches the exterior, with custom flooring, padded walls and omnipresent cushions. Talk about making a statement.

This particular van ‘lives’ in Los Angeles, a place where the definition of ‘normal’ and ‘crazy’ are really fluid, but the question is: would you actually drive this?

  • No, It looks like they stole the front bumper from the geriatric multipla they built on Top Gear and then asked Jeremy to design a chin spoiler for it LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • Ahhh, the 70's 'Rape Van'. Little too new. Needs that bubble window so the victim can smash their face against it when they scream for help.
