Thierry Neuville ends the day with a massive lead of nearly 30 seconds
WRC: DAY 1 OF THE 2017 RALLY SwedenRob Burnett posted in Today's Top News4y ago17.8K Award- Hayden Paddon ended the day sixth fastest after quick runs in the final three stages saw him jump up the placings.- But it was his Hyundai team-mate Thierry Neuville who put in a dominant performance to finish the day top, with a massive lead of 28.1 seconds over Jari-Matti Latvala in second.- Toyota’s Latvala took the lead on the last stage of the morning loop after Neuville hit a rock but the Hyundai man fought back to leave Latvala in second place at the end of the day. © Red Bull Media House- Ott Tanak had to have his Ford Fiesta’s gearbox changed at service but a stage win on SS8 saw him jump up to third by the end of the day. © Red Bull Media House- Citroen’s Kris Meeke was not happy with his performance on the Torsby test, calling his driving ‘horrible’ and ‘really slow’, but he finished the day in fourth.- Sebastien Ogier ended day 1 a whopping 55.7 seconds behind leader Neuville, but will be in with a better chance on Saturday when he won’t have to run first in his Fiesta. © Red Bull Media House- Dani Sordo was jumped by his Hyundai team-mate Paddon to finish the day in seventh.- Craig Breen suffered after he put his 2017-spec Citroen in a bank and ended up eighth © Sutton Images.- A puncture on Elfyn Evans’ Fiesta meant he finished down in ninth.- Stephane Lefebvre rounded out the top ten in his Citroen, 3m 23.6s down on the leader.Thierry Neuville ends the day with a massive lead of nearly 30 seconds Award Rob
