- Thierry Neuville was driving superbly and building on his day 1 lead, until a crash on the end-of-day superspecial stage left him minus a wheel - and dashed his hopes of victory © Red Bull Media House

- Toyota's Jari-Matti Latvala was 40 seconds behind Neuville, but ends the day top after the Hyundai man's crash. 'I was really not expecting that,' he tweeted after the race, adding, 'Feeling really sorry for Thierry Neuville.'

- And his M-Sport team-mate Sebastien Ogier finished the day in third, a further 12.8 seconds down

- Dani Sordo won the end of the day superspecial stage to leave him in fourth overall in the Hyundai i20

- DMACK Ford driver Elfyn Evans finished the day in sixth, 3m44.7s down on the leader

- Hayden Paddon had to make do with seventh after power steering failure dropped him down the order in his Hyundai

- Stephane Lefebvre finished the day eighth in his 2016-spec Citroen DS3 - the last of the WRC cars in the top 10

- Pontus Tidemand finished the day an impressive ninth overall in his works-backed Skoda Fabia R5, and he still leads WRC2 by over a minute

- Teemu Suninen is the other WRC2 driver to finish day 2 in the overall top 10
