Yes, he went down to history, but this gift surely made his day even better

It seems that for Hamilton only the sky is the limit in this moment.

This weekend has been a crazy roller coaster of numerous emotions and moments. From cancelled FP1 due heavy rain followed by madly low temperatures, to the most exciting qualifications this season and even more exciting race, this weekend will be remembered for one more fact:

Hamilton equals Schumacher's wins record with his 91st win today.

The Brit started from second place, right behind Bottas, but after 13 laps Valtteri had a little lock up, which resulted in Hamilton taking the race lead easily. After that exact moment Lewis had the lead till the very bombastic end where he crossed the line in a first place, Verstappen in second, and the Aussie Ricciardo got his first very podium with Renault in a third place. Unfortunately during the race Bottas was forced to retire because his car lost power.

“So it’s an incredible honour, and it’s going to take some time to get used to it. When I came into the pit lane that’s only when I realised I had equalled it, I hadn’t even computed it when I had crossed the line.

But what really got us all teary and emotional was one moment during Hamilton's post-race interview with David Coulthard. Unexpectedly Michael Schumacher's son Mick appeared with his dad's well known red helmet in his hands, and gifted it to Hamilton for his new record. All in all it's definitely a very special moment in Formula 1.

While we are still talking about Schumi junior, he should have had his F1 practice debut in the first free practice session, but as I mentioned early that chance was lost after it's cancellation. But we all hope to see him in near future again, and even more to see him in one of the cars next year.
