You can buy a 10-door Chevy Suburban limo for under $10k
But there's a catch, you gotta go pick it up in Japan
Two 10-door Chevy Suburban-based stretch limos are currently available for sale from Yahoo Auctions for about $9,000 (1 million yen). The auction was supposed to end on July 22 but the listings are still live and active. Probably because the asking price, in all honesty, is still a bit steep. I mean, they literally have trees growing out of them.
According to the listings, the gray-blue one is from July 1987, while the beige model is from January 1983. They both use 454 cu in (7.43 L) engines and automatic transmissions, and they were both previously used as airport shuttles for private flights.
The seller says there are only four 10-door Suburbans in the world but while it is true that Stageway/Armbruster-Stageway did indeed collaborate with Chevrolet to build 5-door and 8-door variants, I couldn't find much on 10-door Chevy limos, which means they may not be original, but they're certainly interesting.
They're in decent condition, not stellar, but if you've got time on your hands, a shed, and if you could convince the seller to sell you both for 1 million yen, this could be an interesting project. You could maybe use turn them into pubs, like James did in America on The Grand Tour. Sort of.
