You can buy a Ferrari Testa Rossa for 79,000 pounds
Well, in a three-quarter scale
The Ferrari Testa Rossa’s value, has, in recent years skyrocketed over the 100,000-pound marker with no sign of slowing down or stopping. But the people over at The Little Car Company have partnered up with Ferrari to make 299 three-quarter scale examples each costing 76,000 pounds. Making the Testa Rossa out of reach to, well, slightly less out of reach than it was. Nevertheless, I am going to talk about what may be the cheapest Testa Rossa in the world right now.
Obviously, the question on everyone's mind is how is the little red supercar powered. I'm sure if you passed basic shapes in preschool then to will understand that you can't just take the original flat-12 engine put it in the engine bay and call it done, quite the opposite because this Testa Rossa is powered by a trio of batteries and an electric motor giving the Testa Rossa a range of 56 miles, just shy of the Smart EQ Fortwo’s range of just 60 miles. This Testa Rossa produces a bit less Brake horsepower than the real one, only 5.3bhp under your right foot, but, you can go up to 50MPH, although you may need to leave for your journeys three hours earlier at least you get to say you drive Ferrari’s first EV, because apparently, you get real Ferrari chassis plates.
Also, this isn’t just some comedic Gimmick from Ferrari, you get four different driving modes, Novice, Comfort, Sport, and Race. Novice mode is essentially a child-lock(because apparently, they're the ones who are supposed to drive it, yeah, I don't think so) but what it does is limit the output of the motor to a meer 1.3bhp and caps the top speed to just twelve mph, Comfort limits the BHP to 5.3 and gives you a top speed of 28MPH. But if you want to be Micheal Schumacher for a day you can put it into Sport/Race mode which sharpens the throttle maps and increases the “toy’s” top speed to the 50MPH limit.
When you look through the Authentic Nardi steering wheel as you drive along you will see reproduced dials from the real Testa Rossa with the traditional large speedo dial being as optimistic as ever, filling you with the hope that you could reach 100kph in effectively a tin box but unfortunately, that isn't the case you are stuck going 80, effectively walking pace after seeing the original figure, with your speedometer always taunting you. But other dials include battery and motor temperature while the fuel gauge is now the battery charge indicator. You can even monitor your regenerative braking with a new power gauge. As you monitor these gauges you will notice that you are sitting on a single bench seat (designed to accommodate one adult and teenager) that shares the same piping as the original Testa Rossa. But no matter what your style is Ferrari have you covered with 15 upholstery options. Unfortunately, since only 299 Cars(if you can call them that) will be produced we don't know what these options are, but if we have learned anything from Ferrari it is, the car is the cheapest option.
The Little Red Car Company was also the mastermind behind the 27,000 pounds Bugatti Baby II, it is designed the same as the miniature Ferrari starting with digital replications of the car's original drawings. Then call a pair of panel beaters to shape the handcrafted aluminium body. According to Ferrari, the Testa Rossa J retains the same steering and suspension geometry as the original 250, and, the Coilover suspension was sourced from the German company Bilstein, while the disks come from Brembo, and of course, the tires come from Pirelli, and apparently, the Testa Rossa’s handling was fine-tuned by Ferrari test drivers at the Fiorano test track in Maranello.
It's a very serious bit of kit for a child which raises the question, why do you buy it? The answer is
, I don't know, but maybe you do, so please share your opinion in the comments.
