You can play Forza Horizon 4 for the price of two beers

Forza Horizon 4 is being added to the Xbox Game Pass, meaning you can pay to play instead of buying the game outright.

It feels like only yesterday we were blowing dust off our Micro Machines Military cartridge, and now we have cross-platform play between consoles and even the ability to rent games. Without having to pay a visit to Blockbusters.

The latest addition to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass will be Forza Horizon 4, meaning you can play it for a month for £7.99 (US$10) as well as other games in the catalogue, of which there are around 200. All for an unlimited time.

Doing so means you never own Forza Horizon 4 or any of the other titles, but then it does cost less than buying three or four games over the course of a year, given that the annual subscription cost is currently £79 (usually £95.88).

You can actually test out Xbox Game Pass for free for 14 days, just to see if you like it. If you do, then that is actually a month and a half for the price of two beers. Not too shabby, eh? Just remember to cancel (you can do this anytime) before the trial is up if you change your mind.

Also available on Xbox Game Pass, just in case you are still sitting on the fence, is Metro 2033, Split/Second, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures and many, many more games. Some much better than others, it must be said.

Unfortunately, only those who purchased the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition can play from today, as the open-world racer is being added to Xbox Game Pass on the 2nd of October, 2018. The same day as the general release.

As for whether you should play the latest Forza game from Microsoft and Playground Games, the answer is a resounding yes. Quite honestly, it's brilliant. Click here for our full review.

  • This is what I do, I don't have time to game much anymore, so I just subscribe to this for the price of 2 games a year. It means if I start playing something but don't have time to finish it, or don't enjoy it, it doesn't feel like a waste of money. Game selection is alright, and is getting better all the time. Plus I believe all Microsoft Game Studios games will be on it going forward.
