You could become the owner of Donald Trump's old Ferrari F430 and Rolls-Royce
Fancy owning a piece of US Presidential history?
With his time as POTUS coming to an end, you'd be forgiven for thinking these cars going up for sale was a last-ditch attempt at cashing in on some assets for Donald, but he actually sold these cars years ago to a private collector.
Regardless of your views on Trump, there's no denying that he has owned a number of awesome cars. Now, two of his previous rides are coming to the market, in the shape of a Ferrari F430 and a Rolls-Royce Phantom. Both cars will be auctions off by Mecum in January 2021, and it will certainly be interesting to see the effect the Trump name has on the values of these cars.
The F430 in question is in impeccable condition. Finished in the timeless spec of Rosso Corsa bodywork over a tan leather interior, the F430 only shows a mere 6,900 miles on the clock. The original title is also included with the sale, bearing the signature of one Donald J. Trump.
When previously sold, it fetched $270,000 at auction, but with Trump now having a history as the President of the United States, the value may exceed this significantly.
By contrast, the 2010 Rolls Royce Phantom shows a significant level of use, with over 56,000 miles on the clock. It has also been well-optioned, being fitted with the so-called 'Theatre Package' which adds the starlight headliner, electric window curtains, and more. The owners manual is also an interesting piece of memorabilia all by itself, bearing a quote from Donald saying "I loved the car, it is great! Best of luck" along with his signature.
While the cars themselves are undoubtedly valuable, the interesting part will be just how much value their history with Trump adds to the vehicles. With Mecum auctioning them off between 7 and 17 January 2021, we don't have long to wait.
