You now can buy a classic Ferrari for £700... or can you?
Always wanted a classic Ferrari? Is your wallet a bit thin after Christmas? Then here's the car for you... or is it?
A gentleman or gentlelady (we just don't know) in Dublin, is selling a classic 1983 Ferrari Mondial for only £699 - with very little information I may add. Digging deeper on the internet, the only Mondial in production around that time was the Mondial QuattroValvole, which came as either a coupe or a cabriolet - this car is the QV coupe clearly. The advert goes:
1983 FERRARI MONDIAL For Sale
FOR SALE A FERRARI MONDIAL 1983
GENUINE FERRARI WORKSHOP MANUAL IN FOUR LANGUAGES FOR NORTH AMERICA MARKET PRINTED IN 1983 and in perfect condition 699 £ OR BEST OFFER
This being the only photo of the car from the owner, you can see it's still in pretty good nick, no visible rust or damage and the colour is still nice, after all this time. The car originally comes with a 3.0L V8 engine - the same one as the 308GTB - and a manual 5-speed gearbox. In the time of this car's production, only 1,145 QV cars were made, 152 of those were right-hand-drive - this one is a left-hand import. It even has the original workshop manual, for that extra 80s kick. Radical.
If you are feeling lucky or slightly desperate for that four-seater Fezza in your life, then go ahead and take a look at the listing. Like I said, there isn't much information on this car but give them a poke, you never know. It may be a right diamond in the rough. It might not be for £699...
OR IS IT! Well, I was fooled when I read it, maybe with a glazed over-excited expression on my face - It's just for the manual! Seeing how the advert was laid out and the fact I am dyslexic, I thought the £700 was for the car in the photo. No! Someone wanted £700 for a manual for a car he no longer had for some time.
I mean, who doesn't give the book with the car?
Still, nice car. Give you £700 for it?
