YouTuber's McLaren 675LT is already suffering from rust

This is appalling

After just 12,000 miles, Shmee150's McLaren 675LT is already suffering from rust. Considering it is a 2015 car, this is shocking.

Now, McLaren's haven't been known for being the most reliable supercars money can buy, in fact they have had a lot of stick ever since the 12C came out back in 2011. But, to find rust on a supercar as expensive and as new as this is quite shocking, even by McLaren's standards.

Initially it was just the panels which had rusted and were then replaced. No problem right? Well, not exactly as now the bonnet has started to corrode. In addition to this, the airbags have stopped working and the battery is buggered. This isn't good at all, especially on a car worth around £300,000.

What do you make of this?

  • It’s not rusting, as McLaren I’m sure would say, it’s “dynamically reducing weight though advanced oxidation technologies”

  • It’s so sad that the bottom line is more important than creating a good product these days. It’s in everything you see in today’s world. The old saying “you get what you pay for” has no place in our world anymore!!!

  • This is completely unacceptable on any modern car, let alone a $300K (I think) McLaren
