Zee Toys Lincoln Continental Mark IV

We're allowed to share diecast boats right?

One of my childhood favorite cars was my Zee Lincoln which won many carpet demolition derby competitions. Sadly, my childhood car is pretty beat up and has a busted axle. I found this minty one and added it to my collection. This is one of Zee's stonger efforts. But, it still has some of the standard Zee warts. Casting overrun and some unrefined lines here and there. The paintjob is pretty rough despite just coming out of the package. I'm still happy to have this one in my collection because it represents an automotive era where American cars were just ridiculously long and heavy with quirky "luxury" features.

This car was also featured in the music video for Jesus and Mary Chain song Sometimes Always. Skip to the 2 minute mark if you want to see them hooning around in the boat. Video posted at the bottom after the photo run.

Hooning a Lincoln out in the desert road looks like hella-fun!

  • Just has to be a Tomica copy:

    • Good lord, 77ths! That's Cararama scaling! I shudder at the mere thought of a true 64ths version.

    • It'd need a much bigger than usual Tomica box, these things were real land yachts. "Long Tomica" perhaps.

  • I have the Tomica and Yatming versions of this. Legend has it that the glass out of all 3 brands will work in each other & that the Yatming is piece by piece compatible with the Tomy.

    Definitely a Tomy copy

  • I always confused the Continental with the T-Bird for some odd reason.
