oh, very interesting! I do know the sound, seen many time in movies and cartoons. Turns out it is so complicated now even with whistling. thanks for sharing

with the wistling, no, I think, just with words, eyes, hands. I don't think it's in our culture, though I may have never met man like this. You?

a number of times. It can be harmless, but it can also be unsettling. Depending on how "enthusiastic" it's done. Of course words and eyes at times. But not hands from perfect strangers.

for the most part such attention is harmless and even flattering, and we women take offense where none is meant. As for me posting this link, I wasn't meaning to denigrate men but to present the history of the wolf whistle.

@tribe Sorry, guys, for not writing anything lately (( here is a little but very meaningful poem ( not by me, obviously) W. H. Davies Leisure WHAT is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?— No time to stand beneath the boughs, And stare as long as sheep and cows: No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass: No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night: No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance: No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began? A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
