What’s going on at VW? Are their engines really so bad that protesters had to set up sick bay tents? I thought it was just a software glitch.

Hey, I'm looking for reading material on auto engineering, kind of new to this. Books ideally, but I'll read anything if people think it'll be helpful

Guys, what's an inline engine? Is it where all the pistons are in a single line?

I get owner's being ridiculous and putting ducting on their car, but why would the engineers opt to put the brake booster so close to the middle of the car?

Less rhetorical question... Are any of you aware of a 90 degree V12 with a 60 degree crankshaft? I would love to hear what a 30 degree firing interval sounds like.

Guys not sure is this the right channel but I have a concern i have C 250 coup 2013 latelyI realized when I start it first time after few hours or rest I notice heavy white smoke. Any idea what would be the reason?

Is there anyone who thinks 2 year 20k service intervals are a good idea.
My main concern is engine oil and filter. I certainly wouldn’t go past 10k without an oil and filter change.
What do you think? conspiracy theories welcome.

Depends on what the service items are.

Does it smell sweet ...ish? If so likely a coolant leak. but my guess would be slow, so it pools in one or more cylinders then you don't notice it once it's burned up.

...or when the engine reaches operating temperature it expands enough to plug the leak.

What's the highest amount of cylinders you could put in an internal combustion engine without it melting.

and how would it all fit together??
Hello, Is a V engine more difficult to contain than an in-line engine in a road vehicle?
