There's plenty of argument around the Brabham lap not being a record because it wasn't set in competition. Still fastest tin top time ever but not the fastest time ever... Jenson Button holds that... 1.48 in a McLaren F1 car.

I was worried about that! I kept trying to find lap records there thinking an F1 car must have run at some point and been the fastest but even Bathurst’s website didn’t and it had the McLaren 650S GT3 number as the top, probably because that’s the official record. I’m curious what the BT62 is capable of when it’s restricted to meet class regulations.

I took a Volvo S60 2.0 diesel out on Spa Francborchamps, had a blast, was all over a Porsche Cayenne in the twisty bits and was 5 seconds a lap faster than a driver in a 335i, even the safety car on the day was a Volvo diesel.

that sounds like a blast! Do you still run it on track? I'd have loved to see on some of those drivers' faces! Volvo is one car brand I almost never see at local track days despite a lot of involvement in motorsports in the past like Touring and Supercars
